Northern Outdoors Club
Northern Outdoors Club is an Esko-based business offering Nature Education. Class topics include everything from survival techniques to camp fire cooking and nature-based art projects.
September 17th - Camping Adventures
Have fun in this awesome active program by working in groups to make your "shelter" (tent) and hopefully "survive" a scenario by choosing the correct items to use. Then, make a small instructor fire for a treat!
September 29th - Duck Blind Building
Head over to the school forest to learn how to build duck blind mats from natural cover. A good skill to try out for any hunter or shelter builder.
This class is held at the school forest until 5:00 PM. Students will walk together after school. Pick up at the hockey rink/garage entrance.
October 20th - Build a Bat house
Learn a bit more about bats with Halloween approaching; when they are remembered the most! Each student will make their own take-home bat house and learn some of the best places to hand it up to help our bug eating bat friends!
November 3rd - Pumpkin Guts!
With Halloween over and the smell of rotting pumpkins in the air, let's find a better use for those pie pumpkins! After a quick review of the plant cycle, we are going to dive into gutting, scooping and baking a treat (or 2) out of pumpkin!
Registration closes one day prior to class
