Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) Program

The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program from the American Safety and Health Institute provides everything you need to know for safe and successful babysitting. The students will receive their certification card and instructions to access a digital copy of the CABS student book at the end of class. Topics cover everything from getting started with your business to collaborating with parents and children, safety, safe sleep practices, caregiving, emergencies, and basic first aid. CABS will help set you up for babysitting success. Students must be present for the entire class and complete the core learning objectives to receive certification, valid for two years. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen.

Home Alone

Is your child ready for the independence of staying home alone? This class empowers children with the confidence and skills needed to handle being home alone, whether it's just for an hour or throughout the day during summer breaks. Our comprehensive curriculum includes: 

Age appropriate guidelines
Establishing safe habits and house rules
Structuring after-school routines
managing phone calls and unexpected visitors
Emergency protocols
Personal safety and handling unexpected situations
Gun & weapon safety awareness 
Preparing for sever weather and fire emergencies
Intruder alertness
Basic first aid techniques
Internet awareness 

Please note: You need to register for each class independently. If you choose to register for both classes, there will be a short lunch break from 12:00-12:30 where students are encouraged to bring a nut-free bag lunch.
